We know that the foundation of a deck is a fundamental part of your project. Deep footings, (sometimes drilled), with steel rebar and wet anchors guarantee that your deck will be a structurally sound part of your home.

All our decks are flashed or spaced away from the house to stop water penetration into your residence. We frame our deck on 16" centers to create a strong non-giving surface. All framing is made from government approved pressure treated fir. Pressure Treated Fir is used to resist rot.

Clough Construction is incredibly sensitive to the environment. We strongly recommend and encourage the use of alternatives to wood such as Trex and Timbertech. We have been installing these products for over 8 years. We have the first Trex deck installed in Marin at our home showroom as well as many other alternative materials. Trex and Timbertech have colors embedded in them so staining or painting is not required. Both products are also bug and rot resistant, non-slippery, and less expensive than middle grade redwood. For customers who prefer wood Pau Lope and Redwood are available. All materials are hand selected. Attaching of deck planks to framing are generally attached with galvanized screws. For those who do not care for visible screw heads nail less fastening systems are available as well as Tongue and Groove Timbertech.

Railings, benches, planters, and lighting add personality and ambience to our decks. All of these options can be specifically designed to match the architecture of your home. We like our decks to reflect our customers' lifestyles and to enhance their recreation time. Because permits are a requirement for most deck projects Clough Construction has devised a way to create minimal, cost effective architectural drawings and services. This along with our experience and knowledge of all the different jurisdictions in Marin guarantee you a hassle free but thorough experience.
