Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a deep passion for the outdoors. Growing up near a creek in Novato, California, my happiest moments were spent outside—especially on our family deck. It was right outside our kitchen dining room, shaded by a beautiful bay tree.
As a child, that redwood deck became my sanctuary. I’d collect acorns, walnuts, and colorful Autumn leaves, arranging them into small collections. Our deck was more than just wood and nails—it was the bridge between home and nature. It hosted countless family gatherings, celebrations, and quiet mornings surrounded by the scent of bay leaves and sunshine.
